The term brotherhood gets familiarized easily, and we can see people talking about it casually. What really is it? What does it really mean? Is it just an emotion or a feeling you share among your brothers, another fleeting thing in this so-called “practical world,” or is it something deeper?
There are many emotions, but few are pure. Can you really experience brotherhood just by joining a motorcycle group, or any group for that matter?
Honestly, no. I could not relate to the term brotherhood for quite some time, so what does it take?
The word itself is not new, it’s pretty ancient. If you google it (I did), it’ll probably say something like:
“An association or community of people linked by a common interest, religion, or trade.”
Is a common interest all it takes to feel brotherhood? Maybe.
Maybe it’s a start, maybe it’s a seed. But how does it grow? It grows through shared experiences, the rides you share, the seasons you cross together, the terrains you conquer, the storms you face, the miles that test your will, and the care and responsibilities you own up to keep your brother safe. They help the seed grow into a plant. As we pass through seasons and years, you are left with a fruit of emotion that you can savor and cherish for the rest of your life, an emotion that will ring through the heavens that you have lived, lived among the finest there is.
I pray we grow stronger together. I pray the seed we planted two years ago reaches its full bloom and grows into an evergreen.
Happy Anniversary, Brothers!
Ride With Pride!
