Ride to Burgur Hills
The excitement was at its peak — my first true long ride!
Though I had done a couple of short rides before, this felt like a whole new endeavour. I had my share of anxieties — about the journey, my riding skills, and whether I would be accepted by the brotherhood.
To add to the chaos, I barely got any sleep — working until 2 AM, then rushing towards the Chennai confluence point by 3 AM, with adrenaline carrying me forward.
At 4:30 AM sharp, the ride began.
A warm tea stop and a delicious mini-breakfast were perfectly arranged — ensuring a smooth, comfortable ride for the group.
It was also my first time using a Sena headset — pure beginner energy!
I struggled with my bike’s limits — she stubbornly refused to go beyond her capabilities while the sweep rider kept pushing me to close the gap. I had no idea how to bridge it… but I kept riding.
The hill curves were a fresh, thrilling experience — watching others gracefully lean into the bends while I cautiously followed, still finding my rhythm.
And then came the climb to the resort — oh man, what a moment of truth.
The steep slope was intimidating. But knowing another rider had already conquered it on a Honda H’ness gave me the courage to try. And with grit and heart, I made it!
The resort was pure bliss — chilly mist floating through stunning views, a sharp contrast to the sun-scorched highways we had left behind.
Amazing food with the right spread, lavish rooms, cushy beds, and a well-earned nap.
The evening brought games, and that night, the party came alive — stories, laughter, and memories shared under the open sky.
I felt heard. I felt like I belonged.
The Next Day — Discovery Awaits
Morning arrived with a twist — off-roading!
Something I had only ever seen on screens.
With a racing heart, and blind belief in the fellow riders who shared my bike model, I followed my lead — mimicking every stunt, hiding my fears beneath my helmet, checking others over the Sena headset.
By the end of it — I discovered a new part of myself.
A spark for off-road adventures was lit… maybe a new ADV bike is in the cards soon!
One thing I truly admired was how the brotherhood stayed meaningfully engaged — no time wasted, just pure good energy. After the evening games, the excitement continued as we got the chance to try superbikes, pick up smart maintenance hacks, and learn riding techniques — all shared by seasoned riders. It was priceless knowledge, served with passion.
Another thing that truly stood out to me — the strict no-alcohol policy for 24 hours before the ride. It spoke volumes about how much the brotherhood valued safety and respect for each other. It felt like home — a place where you are genuinely cared for, where discipline isn’t a rule, but a shared spirit. True riding brotherhood, at its finest.
Then came the biggest surprise: Night Safari!
An open-roof truck, a scary night sky, wild bushes scratching past — heads getting bumped, caps flying away — laughter and panic under the moonlight.
For those few hours, we weren’t riders or tourists — we were explorers, kids at heart, living in the moment. It was pure, unfiltered joy, It wasn’t just an activity.
An adventure none of us will ever forget.
The Ride Back — Hearts Full
Next morning at 5:30 AM, we descended the hills with more confidence in our throttle & smiles hidden under our helmets.
I had barely slept. My body was tired.
But constant Sena check-ins from my brothers kept me alert and laughing.
A hearty breakfast supercharged me for the final stretch.
On the highway, I was able to unlock the hidden potential of the bike by using the tips I had picked up — my bike and I became one.
The blazing sun tried to roast us alive — but the marshals ensured plenty of breaks, hydration stops, and brotherly care.
When I finally reached the peel-off point, I felt a tinge of sadness, as this is where the ride comes to an end and we part our ways and get to the routine.
Finally, I felt, these were no longer just fellow riders — they were brothers bound by the road.
